MP Richard Vanlalhmangaiha Meets Union MoS Kirti Vardhan Singh Over NIT Mizoram Forest Clearance

New Delhi, Feb 5: Lok Sabha Member of Parliament Richard Vanlalhmangaiha on Thursday met Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Kirti Vardhan Singh at his Parliament office to raise concerns over delays affecting key projects in Mizoram.

During the meeting, the MP highlighted that construction and development works at National Institute of Technology Mizoram have been stalled due to the non-grant of forest clearance. He informed the minister that the Mizoram government has already completed all required formalities at the state level and urged the central ministry to expedite the clearance process.

Vanlalhmangaiha emphasised that NIT Mizoram is a crucial institution for the state, playing an important role in providing quality technical education and shaping future generations of professionals. He said timely forest clearance was essential to ensure the institute’s smooth functioning and long-term development.

Responding to the concerns, Union MoS Kirti Vardhan Singh assured the MP that the matter would be looked into on priority and that steps would be taken to resolve the issue at the earliest.

The meeting reflects ongoing efforts by Mizoram’s representatives to push for faster central clearances for critical educational infrastructure projects in the state.
