The Mizoram contingent, sent by the Ju-Jitsu Association of Mizoram (JAM), comprised five athletes and one coach. Competing against fighters from across the Northeast, the team showcased excellence across three Ju-Jitsu disciplines - Ne-Waza (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu), Contact Fighting (MMA rules) and Fighting System (semi-contact striking and grappling).
According to JAM General Secretary C. Lalrinpuia, the association fully sponsored the team’s entry fees, accommodation and food, while SPES Martial Arts Academy supported travel expenses. He noted that Ju-Jitsu is one of the fastest-growing martial arts globally, valued for self-defence and MMA training, and is compulsory in police and school curricula in some countries.
