During the inaugural programme, the Governor also launched two key initiatives under the Mizoram Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (MBOCWWB) - ‘Eizawnna Kailawn’, a skill development project for registered construction workers and their dependents, and ‘Rahbi Chhertu’, aimed at creating new livelihood pathways for construction workers and their families. LESDE Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar attended the event as the guest of honour.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Singh lauded the efforts of the LESDE Department and stakeholders for organising the event, stating that Mizoram’s economic progress depends on the creation of new livelihood opportunities, skill empowerment of youth, growth of entrepreneurs, and the inclusion of women and rural communities. Highlighting the importance of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, he noted that India is among the fastest-growing economies in this segment and urged that MSME activities be extended to even the remotest villages.

The Governor described Mizoram as a state rich in cultural heritage, craftsmanship, agro-based potential, and creative industries, with vast untapped opportunities. He stressed that the Job Fair held alongside the event would act as a crucial bridge between job seekers and employers, particularly benefiting the youth. Emphasising the need for continuous skill upgradation in a technology-driven economy, he called on officials to support entrepreneurs while prioritising sustainability and quality. He also urged effective implementation of central government schemes and appealed to the people of Mizoram to leverage the state’s peaceful environment, natural resources, and human talent for inclusive development.

Speaking on the occasion, LESDE Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar said innovation is not limited to advanced technology but also lies in addressing local needs through new ideas, services, and enterprises. He underlined the department’s role in supporting livelihoods and ensuring market-linked skills for secure employment of Mizo youth. The minister expressed confidence that the implementation of ‘Eizawnna Kailawn’ and ‘Rahbi Chhertu’ would significantly improve livelihoods and encouraged the public to register under the MBOCWWB.
