Mizoram Chief Minister Reviews National Highway Projects in Mizoram

Aizawl, February 13, 2026: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Thursday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the progress of National Highway projects across the state. The meeting was held at the Chief Minister’s Conference Hall and attended by officials working under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

During the review, the Chief Minister expressed appreciation to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari for his continued support to Mizoram. He noted that several proposals submitted by the state government have received positive consideration from the Centre. Lalduhoma also highlighted ongoing discussions on adopting rigid pavement technology for highway construction, considering Mizoram’s high rainfall conditions and challenging terrain.

Officials presented detailed updates on major highway projects being implemented by the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) and the state Public Works Department. The review covered ongoing works, completed stretches, execution challenges and timelines. Decisions taken during the previous review meeting held in September last year were also revisited to assess progress and follow-up actions.

The meeting further reviewed highway improvement works underway in multiple districts and discussed proposals currently awaiting central approval. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of timely execution and coordination between state and central agencies to enhance connectivity and boost economic development in Mizoram.

The meeting was attended by PWD Minister Pu Vanlalhlana, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Pu Lalthansanga, Revenue Minister Pu B. Lalchhanzova, senior state government officials and representatives of highway authorities.
