Mizoram: ₹12 Crore Meth Haul Busted in Zokhawthar, Myanmar National Arrested

Zokhawthar, February 22, 2026: In a major anti-drug operation, personnel of Zokhawthar Police Station and the 14th Assam Rifles, Zokhawthar Post, jointly seized over 15 kg of suspected methamphetamine and arrested one person on Saturday.

According to official sources, acting on suspicion, the joint team intercepted a Kenbo 125 motorcycle at Lipui Kai area in Zokhawthar. Upon inspection, they recovered 15.916 kg of a substance suspected to be methamphetamine.

The motorcycle rider, identified as Lalramliana (29), a resident of Satawm in Falam District, Myanmar, was arrested at the spot.

The seized contraband is estimated to be worth over ₹12 crore in the black market. The motorcycle used for transportation and a mobile phone were also confiscated and handed over to Zokhawthar Police Station.

A case has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act as well as the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025. Further investigation is underway.
