Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma Attends 152nd A’chik Baptist Dalgipa Krima Soba in Bajengdoba

Bajengdoba, February 8: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Sunday attended the 152nd service of the A’chik Baptist Dalgipa Krima (ABDK) at Bajengdoba, one of the largest annual congregations of the Baptist Church in the region.

Describing the occasion as a blessing, the Chief Minister said the ABDK Soba reflects the deep spiritual faith, unity, and brotherhood of the people. He offered prayers for the well-being of the people and the land, expressing hope that Christian teachings would continue to guide society towards peace and harmony.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of North Garo Hills has issued a traffic advisory in view of the ABDK Soba, scheduled to be held from February 5 to 8 at Moamari, Bajengdoba. As per the advisory, commercial heavy vehicles will be restricted from 6 am to 12 midnight on National Highway-51 and the Bajengdoba–Rongsai Road to ensure smooth movement of delegates and members.

Passenger vehicles will be permitted during the restricted hours, while commercial vehicles may operate only between 12 midnight and 6 am. Parking will be prohibited along notified routes, except at designated parking areas.

The ABDK Soba, a tradition spanning over 150 years, attracts lakhs of Christian devotees every year for worship, prayer, and church programmes, making it one of the most significant religious gatherings in Meghalaya.
