Manipur: District-Level Science Quiz 2026 Held in Kakching

Kakching, February 18: The Zonal Education Office, Kakching, under the Directorate of Education (Schools), Government of Manipur, organised the District-Level Science Quiz Contest 2026 on February 18 at the Library and Information Centre, Kakching. The event was held on the theme “Fostering Public Trust in Science”, with the objective of promoting scientific awareness, critical thinking, and a spirit of inquiry among school students.

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of Classes IX to XII representing various schools across Kakching district. Through a series of challenging questions covering diverse scientific disciplines, the quiz encouraged participants to expand their knowledge while highlighting the importance of science in addressing contemporary issues and improving everyday life.

The programme was graced by Smt. Kh. Binodini Devi (Manipur Education Service), District Inspector of Schools, Zonal Education Office, Kakching, as the Chief Guest. In her address, she emphasised the need to nurture scientific temper among young learners and encouraged students to develop curiosity, logical reasoning, and an evidence-based approach to problem-solving.

The event was presided over by Shri M. Rakhesh Singh (Manipur Education Service), Zonal Education Officer, Kakching, who highlighted the significance of science education in shaping responsible and informed citizens capable of contributing to national development.

The quiz competition was conducted by Shri Ksh. Joykumar Singh, Assistant Professor, Kakching Model College (KMC), who served as the Quizmaster. Shri Y. Lokendro Singh, Assistant Inspector of Schools, acted as the Science Expert, ensuring the smooth conduct of the competition and maintaining the academic standards of the event.

The programme concluded with the distribution of prizes and certificates to the winners in recognition of their outstanding performances. Officials stated that the initiative reflects the Government of Manipur's continued commitment to fostering scientific temperament, strengthening public trust in science, and inspiring students to pursue scientific learning and innovation for the benefit of society.
