New Delhi, February 22, 2026: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Sunday to discuss key issues concerning the state, with a strong focus on restoring peace, accelerating rehabilitation efforts, and advancing developmental initiatives.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Deputy Chief Ministers Nemcha Kipgen and Losi Dikho during the high-level meeting, which reviewed the current situation in Manipur and explored measures to ensure lasting peace and stability.
According to an official statement, the discussions were comprehensive and constructive, centring on the government's ongoing efforts to restore normalcy following the ethnic unrest that affected the state. Particular emphasis was placed on expediting the rehabilitation and resettlement of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), many of whom continue to reside in relief camps.
The leaders also discussed strategies to strengthen infrastructure, improve public services, and accelerate development projects aimed at rebuilding livelihoods and fostering inclusive growth across Manipur. The meeting underscored the importance of coordinated efforts between the Central and State Governments to address humanitarian concerns while laying the foundation for long-term peace and economic progress.

During the interaction, Union Home Minister Amit Shah reportedly reaffirmed the Government of India's unwavering commitment to extending every possible assistance to Manipur.
