Tura, February 11: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma inaugurated the Nokrek Skate Park at Tura Government College under the State’s Sports Infrastructure Development initiative in West Garo Hills.

Expressing satisfaction over the completion of the project, which was initiated nearly a year ago, the Chief Minister noted that the facility would provide a dedicated and safe space for young skateboarders in the region. He observed that many enthusiasts had previously been practising in public spaces due to the lack of proper infrastructure.

The Nokrek Skate Park has been developed as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Decathlon and implemented by OneStage in collaboration with Global Himalayan Expedition (GHE).
Sangma thanked all partners, including Tura Government College and local stakeholders, for their support and commitment in making the project a reality. He reiterated the government’s focus on strengthening sports infrastructure to nurture young talent and promote youth engagement across Meghalaya.
