Guwahati, February 16, 2026: The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has cancelled the results of the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024 with immediate effect after identifying an inadvertent error in the previously published select list. The Commission has assured candidates that a revised and accurate result will be issued shortly after a thorough review.

In an official notification issued on February 16, 2026, the APSC stated that the result uploaded through Letter No. 460PSC/CON/Exam-37/2024-2025 has been withdrawn. According to the Commission, the decision was taken after an error was detected in the notification, making it necessary to cancel the published result to ensure fairness and accuracy in the recruitment process.
The cancellation notice was signed by the Principal Controller of Examinations, who clarified that the Commission is undertaking a careful re-examination of the result before publishing a fresh select list. The APSC emphasised that the revised list will be uploaded within a short period after completing the verification process.
The Commission did not specify the exact nature of the error that led to the cancellation but reiterated its commitment to maintaining transparency and integrity in the examination and recruitment process. Candidates have been advised to await the revised notification, which will be published on the Commission's official platform.

To ensure wider dissemination of the information, copies of the cancellation notice have been forwarded to the Chairperson and Members of the Assam Public Service Commission, the Secretary, Joint Secretary, the Deputy and Under Secretary of the Examination Section, as well as the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Assam. The DIPR has been requested to facilitate publication of the notice in leading newspapers and other media platforms so that all concerned candidates are informed.
The Combined Competitive Examination is one of the most significant recruitment examinations conducted by the APSC for appointments to various prestigious civil services and administrative posts in the Assam government. As a result, the cancellation has drawn considerable attention among candidates awaiting final appointments.
The Commission has appealed for patience and assured aspirants that the revised select list will be prepared with due diligence to eliminate any discrepancies and ensure a fair, transparent, and error-free recruitment process.
