Tawang, February 15, 2026: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Saturday felicitated the newly elected Panchayat leaders of the Jang-Mukto constituency in Tawang district, highlighting the vital role of grassroots governance in ensuring inclusive development and strengthening democratic institutions across the state.

The felicitation programme brought together village representatives, community leaders, and local stakeholders, providing an opportunity for direct interaction between the state leadership and the newly elected Panchayat members. “Strong villages build a strong state,” Khandu said, stressing that the progress of Arunachal Pradesh depends on the strength and effectiveness of its grassroots institutions. He noted that Panchayat leaders serve as the crucial link between the government and the people, helping identify local needs and ensuring that development initiatives reach every corner of the state.
The Chief Minister urged the newly elected representatives to carry out their responsibilities with dedication, honesty, transparency, and accountability. He encouraged them to work closely with local communities, listen to public concerns, and prioritize the welfare of the people above all else.
