Arunachal CM Inaugurates Entrepreneurship Development Institute at Jote

Itanagar, February 23, 2026: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Monday virtually inaugurated the newly established Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) at Jote, a major initiative aimed at fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic self-reliance among the youth of the state.

The institute has been established with the objective of nurturing entrepreneurial talent, promoting skill development, and creating opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). It is expected to serve as a key platform for providing training, mentorship, and support to individuals seeking to establish and expand business ventures in Arunachal Pradesh.

The inauguration programme brought together entrepreneurs, government officials, industry stakeholders, and beneficiaries of various central government schemes. A key highlight of the event was the experience-sharing sessions conducted by beneficiaries of flagship initiatives such as the National SC-ST Hub, PM Vishwakarma Yojana, and the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).

Participants shared their personal journeys and explained how these schemes had helped them overcome financial and operational challenges to build successful enterprises. Their stories highlighted the positive impact of government support in creating livelihood opportunities and encouraging entrepreneurship at the grassroots level.

The programme also recognised and felicitated outstanding entrepreneurs who have achieved notable success under these initiatives. The awardees were honoured for their innovation, dedication, and contribution to economic development and employment generation in the state.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Khandu emphasized the critical role of entrepreneurship in driving economic growth and creating sustainable employment opportunities. He stated that empowering MSMEs is essential for achieving the vision of a self-reliant economy and contributing to the national goal of building a “Viksit Bharat.”

The Chief Minister noted that Arunachal Pradesh possesses immense potential in sectors such as agriculture, tourism, handicrafts, food processing, and technology, and encouraged young people to explore entrepreneurial opportunities in these areas. He said the new institute would play a vital role in equipping aspiring entrepreneurs with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to succeed in a competitive business environment.

The establishment of the Entrepreneurship Development Institute at Jote is expected to strengthen the state's entrepreneurial ecosystem and support a new generation of innovators and job creators, contributing significantly to Arunachal Pradesh’s long-term economic development.
