Imphal, Jan 16, 2026: Techsprint Manipur 1.0, a high-energy 48-hour artificial intelligence (AI)-based hackathon, was officially launched on January 15 in Imphal by the Directorate of Information Technology, under the Government of Manipur.
The initiative aims to identify, nurture, and empower promising AI talent among students and entrepreneurs, paving the way for Manipur’s representation at national-level technology platforms. The hackathon is designed to foster innovation, hands-on problem-solving, and the development of practical, AI-driven solutions.
The launch ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, with Nambam Deben, Director of Information Technology, serving as the Chief Launcher. Experts from academia, government, and industry were also present, underscoring the growing collaboration to build a robust innovation and technology ecosystem in the state.
Participants demonstrated remarkable creativity and technical expertise by showcasing AI-based prototypes and modules, reflecting strong problem-solving skills and innovation potential among Manipuri youth.
The final round of Techsprint Manipur 1.0 will conclude on January 16, 2026, when the top three teams will be selected. The winners will receive specialised training and mentorship, enabling them to proudly represent Manipur at the national level.
The event marks a significant milestone in strengthening Manipur’s digital and startup ecosystem while encouraging young innovators to excel in emerging technologies.
