Assam and Tripura CMs Hold Courtesy Meet in Agartala, Reaffirm Inter-State Cooperation

Agartala, Jan. 15: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday paid a courtesy call on Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha in Agartala, marking a warm and cordial exchange between the two neighbouring states.

During the meeting, the two leaders held wide-ranging and meaningful discussions on matters of mutual interest, reaffirming the enduring spirit of cooperation and collaborative progress between Assam and Tripura. Both sides underlined the importance of close coordination on regional development, connectivity, governance and people-centric initiatives.

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Sarma visited the sacred shrine of Maa Tripurasundari Temple, describing the visit as a blessing. He later called on Chief Minister Saha at his official residence in Agartala, where the leaders continued discussions on shared priorities.

Expressing gratitude for the visit, Chief Minister Manik Saha said he was deeply honoured to host his Assam counterpart, describing the interaction as warm and productive. He noted that such engagements strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two states.

The meeting highlighted the growing emphasis on inter-state collaboration in the Northeast, with both Chief Ministers reiterating their commitment to work together for shared progress, regional harmony and the overall development of the people of Assam and Tripura.
