SpiceJet Launches First-Ever Flight Services to Imphal from February 10

Imphal, January 30: Budget carrier SpiceJet on Friday announced its entry into Manipur with the launch of its first-ever flight services to Imphal, a move aimed at significantly strengthening air connectivity to the Northeast.

SpiceJet Launches First-Ever Flight Services to Imphal from February 10

From February 10, the airline will operate daily flights to Imphal from Kolkata, Guwahati and Mumbai using Boeing 737 aircraft, the company said in a statement. While services from Kolkata and Guwahati will be non-stop, passengers travelling from Mumbai will be able to fly on a single aircraft with a brief stopover in Kolkata, eliminating the need for an aircraft change.

SpiceJet said the new routes are expected to greatly improve access to Manipur by offering more reliable and seamless travel options for both leisure and business passengers. The launch is particularly significant for the state, which currently has limited air connectivity compared to other regions.

The airline noted that the daily services would benefit a wide range of travellers, including residents, students, medical patients, government officials and business communities, by providing increased capacity and greater choice for travel to and from Imphal.

In addition to direct links with Kolkata, Guwahati and Mumbai, the new Imphal flights will also enable convenient onward connections across SpiceJet’s wider domestic network and select international destinations.

SpiceJet Chief Business Officer Debojo Maharshi described the maiden Imphal service as an important milestone in the airline’s expansion in the Northeast. He said strengthening regional connectivity has long been a priority for the carrier and expressed confidence that the new routes would contribute to improved mobility and economic activity in the region.
