S. D. Singh Jamwal Assumes Charge as DGP of Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar, January 23: S. D. Singh Jamwal, IPS, on Tuesday assumed charge as the Director General of Police (DGP), Arunachal Pradesh, following his transfer from Ladakh. Chief Minister Pema Khandu extended best wishes to the senior police officer during a courtesy call and expressed confidence that his experience would further strengthen the state’s law and order framework.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister and the new DGP discussed their shared responsibility in ensuring peace, public safety and a responsive policing system that inspires confidence among citizens. Khandu said the state government looks forward to working closely with Jamwal in the service of the people of Arunachal Pradesh.

A 1995-batch IPS officer, Jamwal was appointed to the post following an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on January 2. He previously served as the DGP of Ladakh.

Jamwal replaces Anand Mohan, who has been directed to report to Delhi. Officials said the change in leadership comes as part of routine administrative reshuffling at the senior level.
