New Delhi, January 23: A preliminary meeting in connection with the upcoming 2nd Sikkim Arts and Literature Festival was held on Thursday at the official residence of Indra Hang Subba, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, who chaired the deliberations.
The meeting was attended by Syed Shams Jawaid, Vice President of Teamwork Arts Pvt. Ltd.; Sonam Chopel Sherpa, Chairperson of the Students’ Welfare Board; and Tashi Chophel, Secretary, School Education Department.
During the meeting, preliminary discussions were held on the proposed dates for the festival, which have been tentatively fixed for April 16, 17 and 18. The participants also deliberated on key organisational aspects, including the selection of writers, identification of a suitable venue, programme curation, and other logistical arrangements.
Teamwork Arts Pvt. Ltd., the principal organiser of the internationally renowned Jaipur Literature Festival, and a key partner of the 1st Sikkim Arts and Literature Festival held at Yuksam in 2023, expressed its willingness to continue its association with the second edition of the festival.
The company reiterated its commitment to curating a vibrant and inclusive literary platform that would bring together renowned authors, emerging writers, artists and cultural practitioners, while also showcasing Sikkim’s rich literary and cultural heritage. Organisers said the continued partnership is expected to further strengthen the festival’s outreach, content quality and overall organisational framework.
Further meetings are likely to be held in the coming weeks as preparations for the second edition of the Sikkim Arts and Literature Festival gather momentum.
