Aizawl, January 25, 2026: As per the latest Handbook released by the Directorate of Economics & Statistics, electricity connectivity has been extended to 717 out of 730 inhabited villages in Mizoram, marking significant progress in rural electrification across the state.

Officials from the Power & Electricity Department stated that power supply has already been provided to the vast majority of villages, while only 13 villages are yet to be electrified. The department has assured that concerted efforts are underway to ensure electricity reaches these remaining locations at the earliest possible time.
