The newly inaugurated offices include the Office of the Superintendent of Police, District Public Relations Office (DPRO), District Youth Resources Office (DYRO), District Planning Officer (DPO–Planning), and the District Sericulture Office. The facilities have been established to enhance governance, improve coordination among departments and bring government services closer to the people of Shamator district.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Rio expressed gratitude to the engineers, contractors, workers and local residents whose efforts contributed to the successful completion of the projects. He said the development reflected the government's commitment to ensuring that newly created districts are equipped with the infrastructure necessary for efficient administration and sustainable growth.

The Chief Minister noted that Shamator was created as a district with the objective of promoting balanced development and improving access to government services. However, he acknowledged that the absence of a fully functional Deputy Commissioner’s office had created challenges in governance, inter-departmental coordination, implementation of development programmes and delivery of public services.

With the inauguration of the new office complex, Rio said these challenges would be significantly reduced, enabling smoother administration and more effective implementation of government schemes. He described the Deputy Commissioner as the principal executive authority at the district level, responsible for revenue administration, maintenance of law and order, disaster management, development planning and coordination among various departments.

Dr. Rio further stated that the establishment of the DC office complex and associated district offices represents an important step toward strengthening institutional capacity and ensuring responsive, citizen-centric governance. He also mentioned that the creation of Treasury and Sub-Treasury offices would be considered in the future, depending on the volume of administrative and financial transactions in the district.

Calling upon the people of Shamator to take ownership of the facilities, the Chief Minister urged citizens to help maintain and utilize the infrastructure responsibly. He expressed confidence that the complex would become a hub of transparent and efficient governance, contributing to the district’s socio-economic progress.

Extending his Tsungkamnyo greetings to the people, Rio said the inauguration heralds a new chapter in Shamator’s development journey and expressed hope that the district would continue to witness growth, improved governance and enhanced public welfare in the years ahead.
