Aizawl, Jan 27, 2026: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Tuesday inaugurated the CSR Matchmaking Portal “Mizoram CSR Connect” at McCabe Hall, Aijal Club, marking a significant step toward strengthening corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives in the state.

The portal has been jointly developed by the Mizoram CSR Cell under the Planning & Programme Implementation Department in collaboration with UNDP India, with the aim of facilitating effective coordination between CSR contributors and implementing agencies through a transparent digital platform.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister expressed appreciation to UNDP India, the Planning & Programme Implementation Department, and the Mizoram CSR Cell for their efforts in operationalising the portal. Referring to CSR data for 2023–24, he noted that Mizoram received only 0.06 per cent of the total CSR expenditure in India, underscoring the need to expand CSR engagement in the state.
Lalduhoma said the launch of Mizoram CSR Connect would bridge the gap between CSR donors and seekers while improving ease of doing CSR in Mizoram. He emphasised that the platform would ensure transparency, accountability, and measurable outcomes for corporate contributors. He also highlighted the establishment of the CSR Cell in the Chief Minister’s Office in June 2024 as part of the state’s efforts to strengthen CSR-related initiatives.

Highlighting Mizoram’s advantages, the Chief Minister said the state’s peaceful environment, low corruption levels, high literacy rate, progress towards Sustainable Development Goals, and the people’s spirit of tlawmngaihna make it an ideal destination for CSR investments. He invited corporates and civil society organisations to actively participate, assuring transparent and impactful utilisation of CSR funds.
Angela Lusigi, Resident Representative of UNDP India, also addressed the programme, describing the portal as an initiative of national and global relevance. She reaffirmed UNDP India’s commitment to sustainable development, women empowerment, and environmental conservation, and stressed the importance of data-driven planning for effective CSR outcomes.
Secretary, Planning & Programme Implementation Department, Lalmalsawma Pachuau, delivered the welcome address, while Adviser to the Chief Minister and Chairman of the Mizoram CSR Cell, TBC Lalvenchhunga, highlighted key CSR opportunities in the state.
The event also witnessed the exchange of Memoranda of Understanding between the Mizoram Start-Up Mission and participating corporate and institutional partners, signalling enhanced collaboration for development initiatives in Mizoram.
