Imphal, Jan. 14: On the occasion of the 10th Armed Forces Veterans’ Day–2026, the Governor of Manipur felicitated armed forces veterans at a ceremony held at Lok Bhavan, Manipur, paying tribute to their exemplary service and courage.

Veterans honoured at the event included Distinguished and Gallantry Award–winning ex-servicemen and Veer Naris, whose sacrifices and contributions to the nation were formally recognised. The ceremony highlighted the pivotal role played by veterans and their families in safeguarding the country’s security and values.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor underscored the unwavering dedication of the Armed Forces and reaffirmed the nation’s enduring gratitude to veterans, ex-servicemen and their families. He noted that Armed Forces Veterans’ Day serves as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made to uphold India’s sovereignty, unity and democratic ideals.
The Governor called upon citizens to honour and remember the selfless service of veterans and their families, acknowledging their enduring sacrifices in the service of the nation.
