The programme was chaired by Navneet Mann, Deputy Commissioner, Lunglei, who explained that the application aims to simplify public access to essential healthcare services and promote preventive health awareness, particularly among youth. She added that the app would benefit not only district residents but also visitors.
Christina Zonunmawii, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Lunglei, presented a progress report on the Healthy Lunglei District Campaign, noting that more than 40 health camps have been conducted across urban and rural areas. She highlighted that free health screening services are being regularly provided through the Health ATM at Civil Hospital, Lunglei, and encouraged the public to utilise the facility.
A live demonstration of the application was conducted by the LushAITech development team. The LushAI Healthy Lunglei App allows users to check doctors’ consultation schedules at government hospitals and health centres, book OPD appointments in advance, register for ABHA, purchase medicines through registered pharmacies, and access essential health information.
Built using advanced Artificial Intelligence and AI agents, the application includes an AI chatbot that assists users with OPD bookings and responds to queries in the Mizo language. Compatible with both Android and iOS platforms, the app also enables users to locate nearby healthcare facilities, view pharmacy stock, upload and access medical reports, receive automated appointment reminders, and cancel appointments up to 24 hours in advance. A web-based dashboard supports efficient data management for administrators and medical staff.
Officials said the platform is fully compliant with the Digital Information Security in Healthcare Act (DISHA), ensuring data privacy and security.
The Healthy Lunglei District Campaign, launched on June 12, 2024, entered a CSR partnership through an MoU signed on October 12, 2024. Since then, awareness programmes and screening drives have reached over 2,000 beneficiaries across Lunglei town and rural development blocks including Lungsen, Bunghmun and Tlabung, with a focus on non-communicable diseases and preventive healthcare. As part of the initiative, Mizoram’s first Health ATMs were inaugurated on August 18, 2025, at Civil Hospital Lunglei and PHC Lungsen.
