Chief Minister Lalduhoma Meets DoNER Secretary in Aizawl

Aizawl, Jan 16: The Chief Minister of Mizoram, Lalduhoma, today met Chanchal Kumar, Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), at his office during the latter’s official visit to the state.

During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed various developmental initiatives being implemented in Mizoram with support from the Ministry of DoNER. The Chief Minister urged early resolution of several pending projects of the Mizoram Government under the ministry and stressed the need to expedite and simplify approval procedures. He pointed out that delays in sanctions and clearances often hamper the timely execution of development works.

The DoNER Secretary appreciated the recently established ginger processing unit in Mizoram, noting that ginger cultivation is a major source of livelihood for a large number of farmers in the state and that production has been steadily increasing. He further emphasized that the Ministry of DoNER attaches significant importance to the processing unit, given its potential to strengthen farmers’ incomes and the rural economy.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Vanlaldina Fanai, Commissioner and Secretary to the Chief Minister, during the meeting.
