All India Chakma Students' Union, Tripura Chakma Students' Association Hold Coordination Meeting

Agartala, Jan 16: A coordination meeting between the All India Chakma Students' Union (AICSU) and the Tripura Chakma Students' Association (TCSA) was held at Masmara on Friday, bringing together senior leaders and executive members of both organizations to discuss key issues concerning the Chakma student community and strengthen cooperation between the two bodies.

The meeting witnessed the participation of several prominent student leaders and community representatives, including Dangu Drishya Muni Chakma, National President of AICSU; Dangu Bipul Chakma, Senior Vice President of AICSU and President of DCSU; Dangu Er. Aniruddha Chakma, Advisor to AICSU and Assistant Secretary of the Rejyo Parishad; and Dangu Bimal Kanti Chakma, Member of District Council (MDC), Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) and a well-wisher of AICSU.

Also present at the meeting were Dangu Jiban Basu Chakma, Vice President of AICSU and President of TCSA; Dangu Biren Chakma, General Secretary of TCSA; along with executive members and office-bearers from both student organizations.

According to sources, the primary focus of the meeting was to review recent developments relating to the Anjel Chakma case, which has drawn considerable attention within the Chakma community. Participants discussed the current status of the matter and explored possible future courses of action. Leaders emphasized the importance of pursuing the issue through coordinated efforts while ensuring that the concerns of students and the broader community are effectively represented.

The meeting also reviewed preparations for the upcoming AICSU Annual Conference, which is expected to bring together student representatives and community leaders from different regions. Discussions centred on organizational planning, logistical arrangements and strategies to ensure meaningful participation and productive deliberations during the conference.

In addition to these issues, members deliberated on a range of organizational matters affecting the student community. Topics reportedly included educational concerns, youth engagement, leadership development and strengthening the role of student organizations in addressing social and academic challenges faced by Chakma students.

Speakers at the meeting stressed the importance of unity and collective action in advancing the interests of the community. They noted that close coordination between AICSU and TCSA would be essential in addressing emerging challenges and ensuring that the voices of Chakma students are heard at various levels.

Leaders from both organizations reaffirmed their commitment to working together on matters related to education, student welfare and community development. They also underscored the need for strategic planning and sustained engagement to address issues affecting students and youth.

The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to strengthen cooperation between AICSU and TCSA and to continue collaborative efforts in promoting the welfare, educational advancement and overall development of the Chakma student community. Participants expressed confidence that greater unity and coordination would help the organizations effectively address future challenges and contribute positively to the growth and empowerment of Chakma youth.
