BSF (Jalandhar) Book Final Spot in 11th CM’s Gold Cup Football Tournament

Namchi, January 19: BSF (Jalandhar) secured the second final berth of the 11th All India Chief Minister’s Gold Cup Football Tournament after edging past Sudeva Delhi FC in a thrilling semi-final at Jorethang Football Stadium on Monday.

The closely contested encounter ended 1–1 at full time, forcing the match into a penalty shoot-out. BSF (Jalandhar) held their nerve to clinch a 6–5 victory in penalties, sealing their place in the final. Sonu Lal was adjudged Man of the Match for his standout performance.

The match was graced by Jacob Khaling Rai, Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, as Chief Guest, along with several Guests of Honour and dignitaries from the state government and sporting bodies. Tokens of appreciation were presented to the Chief Guest and Guests of Honour by the organising committee, while traditional cultural dance performances added colour and festive spirit to the occasion.

The final of the tournament will be played on January 22, 2026, during the Maghey Sankranti Mela, featuring Nongkseh SC against BSF (Jalandhar).

The tournament is being organised by the Jorethang Football Association in collaboration with the Sports & Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sikkim, the Sikkim Football Association, and the Maghey Sankranti Mela 2026 Organising Committee. All matches are conducted strictly in accordance with regulations laid down by the All India Football Federation.
