Guwahati, Jan 26: President of the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU), Dipen Boro, has urged the Central and Assam state governments to ensure the timely and complete implementation of all clauses of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Accord.

As part of the observance of BTR Accord Day on January 27, ABSU announced that it will send 10,000 postcards and 5,000 emails to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking urgent attention to the pending provisions of the accord. The student body said the initiative is aimed at reminding the authorities of their commitment to peace, development and political empowerment in the Bodoland Territorial Region.
ABSU also reiterated its key demands, including the inclusion of additional revenue villages within the BTR area and the creation of more constituencies for the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) to ensure better representation.

Dipen Boro welcomed the BTC government led by Hagrama Mohilary for its preparations to observe BTR Accord Day and urged the council to work sincerely towards effective implementation of both the BTR Accord and the BTC Accord.
Meanwhile, ABSU is set to observe the 6th BTR Accord Day at Batasipur in Sonitpur district, marking the occasion with renewed calls for development, political rights and the full realization of the objectives of the historic agreement.
