Assam Police Seize Heroin Worth ₹11 Crore in Major Anti-Drug Operations

According to the Chief Minister, Assam Police launched a major “disinfection drive” against drug trafficking, resulting in the recovery of 1.358 kg of heroin valued at approximately ₹11 crore from Amingaon. The seizure was carried out jointly by the STF Assam and Kamrup Police.

In a separate operation, Cachar Police recovered 139.13 grams of heroin from Borkhola, further strengthening the state’s offensive against the drug menace.

Terming the operations a strong message to drug syndicates, Sarma said that illegal narcotics would not be allowed to flourish in Assam. “Dirty drugs won’t survive Assam’s disinfectant drive,” he stated, reaffirming the government’s commitment to making the state drug-free.

Police officials said investigations are underway to identify and apprehend those involved in the trafficking network, while further operations against drug peddlers are expected to continue across Assam.
