Imphal, December 5, 2025: The Governor of Manipur chaired a high-level meeting this evening to review ongoing preparations for the upcoming 4th State Level Barak Festival 2025. The meeting, held at Lok Bhavan, focused on ensuring that all departments are fully prepared to deliver a successful and well-coordinated cultural celebration.
Key discussion areas included budget allocation, programme scheduling, transport arrangements, publicity strategies, and measures to position the festival as a major tourism draw for the state. Officials from various departments briefed the Governor on progress made so far and areas requiring further attention.
The Barak Festival 2025, scheduled to take place from 12 to 14 December at Zilipou in Senapati District, will be held under the theme “Heritage in Harmony.” The festival aims to highlight Manipur’s rich cultural diversity, strengthen inter-community bonds, and promote cultural tourism as a driver of regional development.
As one of Manipur’s flagship cultural events, the festival will feature traditional performances, indigenous cuisine, craft exhibitions, and showcases of the unique cultural heritage of communities living along the Barak River basin.
The Governor emphasised the need for seamless coordination, effective promotion, and active community participation to elevate the festival’s stature and enhance tourist engagement. Officials expressed confidence that the 2025 edition will be one of the most vibrant celebrations to date.
