Changlang, Dec 15: Changlang district has set a remarkable benchmark in promoting gender-inclusive democracy by establishing 17 Pink Polling Stationsthe highest number in Arunachal Pradesh - during the latest phase of local electoral exercises. The initiative, implemented under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner, Changlang, underscores the district’s strong commitment to gender equality and participatory governance.
Among these, Polling Station 8 Borkhet (14/1 Bordumsa ZPC) stood out as a model centre, being entirely managed by women election officials. The all-women team ensured a smooth, free, and fair polling process, marked by professionalism, efficiency and a supportive environment for voters.
The Pink Polling Stations were designed to create a safe and welcoming atmosphere for women voters, helping boost turnout, confidence and civic engagement. Officials noted that the initiative not only encouraged women to participate actively in the electoral process but also showcased their leadership and capability in frontline democratic roles.
