The newly inaugurated office is expected to significantly ease the challenges faced by civil service aspirants from western Meghalaya. Until now, candidates were required to travel nearly 10–15 hours overnight to Shillong to appear for examinations - a journey that left many students physically and mentally exhausted before crucial tests.

“With this new facility in Tura, our young aspirants can now focus their energy and time on preparation rather than travel,” the Chief Minister said, dedicating the new office to the youth of the region.

He also announced that the first MPSC examination in Tura will be held on November 14, 2025, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the state’s administrative services framework.

The Chief Minister further shared that the government is exploring the possibility of establishing similar MPSC facilities in Jaiñtia Hills, extending the same benefits to youth in other parts of the state.

“This is a step forward in bringing governance and opportunities closer to our people,” Sangma emphasized, reaffirming his government’s commitment to decentralization and inclusive development.

The new MPSC Office in Tura stands as a symbol of Meghalaya’s effort to make public service examinations more accessible and equitable for all regions of the state.
