KOHIMA, Sept 5: Nagaland Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio extended warm greetings and best wishes to teachers across the state on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, recognizing their immense contribution to education, character-building and nation-building.
In a message issued on Friday, the Chief Minister described teachers as the guiding force of society who not only impart knowledge but also nurture values, shape character and inspire young minds to achieve their aspirations. He said the dedication, patience and selfless service of teachers remain fundamental to building an enlightened, progressive and harmonious society.
Highlighting the changing demands of the modern world, Rio noted that the role of teachers has become increasingly important in an era driven by rapid technological advancements and innovation. He stressed that educators play a crucial role in fostering creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills among students, enabling them to navigate the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed the state government's commitment to strengthening the education sector and supporting teachers in their mission of shaping future generations. He said efforts would continue to improve educational infrastructure, empower educators and ensure that the teaching profession receives the dignity, recognition and respect it deserves.
Rio also called upon citizens to acknowledge and honor the invaluable contributions of teachers, while urging students to uphold the principles of discipline, hard work, respect and integrity imparted by their mentors.
