IMPHAL, Sept 5: On the occasion of Teachers' Day, Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla extended warm greetings and heartfelt appreciation to teachers across the state and the country, acknowledging their invaluable contribution to shaping young minds and building a strong, progressive nation through education.

In his Teachers' Day message, Governor Bhalla paid tribute to educators for their unwavering commitment, dedication, and selfless service in nurturing future generations. He described teachers as the "guiding light" of society whose wisdom, patience, and perseverance inspire students to realise their potential and become responsible citizens.

The Governor observed that teachers play a far greater role than merely imparting academic knowledge. Recalling the birth anniversary of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birthday is celebrated annually as Teachers' Day in India, Governor Bhalla said the occasion serves as a reminder of the true essence of education—one that combines knowledge with wisdom, ethics, and human values. He noted that Dr. Radhakrishnan, an eminent philosopher, scholar, and statesman, regarded teaching as one of the noblest professions and believed education should foster both intellectual growth and moral development.

Highlighting the significance of teachers in nation-building, the Governor said classrooms are where the future of the country is shaped. He remarked that dedicated educators play a crucial role in nurturing creativity, critical thinking, innovation, and leadership among students while encouraging them to become compassionate and socially responsible individuals.
