AGARTALA, August 15, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha on Friday attended a blood donation camp organized in Agartala to commemorate the 79th Independence Day of India, the 153rd birth anniversary of philosopher and spiritual leader Rishi Aurobindo, and the 70th foundation day of Aurobindo Sangha.
The event brought together community members, volunteers, blood donors and dignitaries in a collective effort to promote voluntary blood donation and social service. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister praised the organizers for conducting the programme and highlighted the vital role of blood donation in saving lives.
“Blood donation is life donation, save lives with blood,” Dr. Saha said, urging citizens, especially the youth, to participate regularly in blood donation drives. He noted that a steady supply of safe blood is essential for hospitals and healthcare institutions to treat accident victims, patients undergoing surgery, women facing pregnancy-related complications and individuals suffering from serious illnesses.
The Chief Minister emphasized that voluntary blood donation is one of the most noble forms of public service, as a single unit of donated blood can help save multiple lives. He added that awareness campaigns and community-driven initiatives play a crucial role in encouraging more people to become regular donors.

Apart from inaugurating the blood donation camp, Dr. Saha also took part in several social and community welfare activities organized by the club authorities as part of the celebrations. He congratulated the organizers for their continued contribution to society and for upholding the values of service and humanity associated with the legacy of Rishi Aurobindo.
Tripura MLA Ms. Mina Rani Sarkar and other distinguished guests were also present at the programme. The Chief Minister commended the combined efforts of community organizations, stating that such initiatives strengthen social unity while promoting public health and welfare.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from blood donors and local residents, reflecting a strong spirit of community service and national responsibility on the occasion of Independence Day.
