Kohima, August 16, 2025: In a significant step toward promoting menstrual hygiene and women’s empowerment, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mahila Morcha, Nagaland, organized a free sanitary pad distribution program on Independence Day as part of the ongoing #HarGharTiranga Yatra.
The initiative focused on creating awareness about menstrual health and hygiene while ensuring dignity and equal opportunities for women. By providing access to essential sanitary products, the program aimed to address both social and health challenges faced by women, particularly in rural and underprivileged areas.
The distribution drive is in line with the government’s broader vision for women’s empowerment under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. With a strong emphasis on “Nari Shakti,” the initiative seeks to promote health, equality, and dignity for women across the country, reflecting the government’s commitment to gender-inclusive development.
