AGARTALA, August 16, 2025: Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha said cricket in Tripura has witnessed remarkable growth over the past seven years, crediting the state’s sports-friendly policies and timely initiatives of the Tripura Cricket Association (TCA).
Speaking at the TCA’s annual award distribution ceremony at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhaban, Agartala, on Friday, the Chief Minister said that modern cricket infrastructure is being developed across the state, enabling many budding players from even remote areas to showcase their talent.
“Tripura is steadily becoming a breeding ground for cricketing excellence. The infrastructure and opportunities being created will go a long way in shaping the careers of our young athletes,” Dr. Saha said, while encouraging the award-winning players to aim higher.
The Chief Minister also praised the TCA’s role in nurturing grassroots talent and expressed hope that with continued efforts, Tripura will soon make its mark on the national cricketing map.
The event saw several young cricketers felicitated for their outstanding performances, reflecting the state’s growing sports culture and commitment to promoting cricket as a platform for youth development.
