Kohima/Chennai, August 16, 2025: A solemn memorial service was held at Raj Bhavan, Kohima, to honour the life, service, and leadership of Late La. Ganesan, the Hon’ble Governor of Nagaland, who passed away recently. Members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, officials, and dignitaries attended the ceremony, offering floral tributes and paying their respects to the departed leader.
Later in the day, the funeral service of the late Governor was held in Chennai with full state honours. Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, accompanied by Deputy Chief Ministers Yanthungo Patton and T.R. Zeliang, along with the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police, Nagaland, attended the service.

Chief Minister Rio, in his tribute, described La. Ganesan as a leader of humility, dedication, and selfless service, whose contributions to the people will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude.
