Kohima/Chennai, August 16, 2025: Nagaland bid a heartfelt farewell to its Governor, La. Ganesan, as memorial and funeral services were held in Kohima and Chennai to honour the life and legacy of the veteran statesman, whose passing has left a deep void in public life.
A solemn memorial service was organized at Raj Bhavan, Kohima, where political leaders, government officials, members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, civil servants, and dignitaries gathered to pay their last respects to the late Governor. The ceremony was marked by floral tributes, prayers, and moments of reflection as attendees remembered Ganesan’s contributions to public service and his tenure as the constitutional head of the state.

Zeliang, the Chief Secretary, and the Director General of Police, among others.

He said the late Governor’s contributions to society and public administration would continue to be remembered with respect and gratitude. Rio noted that Ganesan’s leadership was characterized by sincerity, wisdom and a strong commitment to public welfare.
