Manipur Governor Pays Tribute to Martyrs on Patriot’s Day

Imphal, August 13, 2025: The Hon’ble Governor of Manipur, Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, paid homage to the heroes of the Anglo-Manipuri War of 1891 on Patriot’s Day. He visited Heecham Yaicham Pat, Moirangkhom, the cremation site of patriot Yubaraj Bir Tikendrajit Singh, who was executed by the British on August 13, 1891, and honoured the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s dignity.

Accompanied by dignitaries and citizens, the Governor also visited the Temple of Thangal General, offering floral tributes and lauding his pivotal role in Manipur’s freedom struggle. He urged the youth to draw inspiration from their courage, dedication, and patriotism.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Bhalla stated that the supreme sacrifice of these patriots will forever inspire the people of Manipur to uphold the ideals of courage, unity, and national pride, keeping the legacy of the freedom struggle alive for future generations.
