New Delhi, August 7, 2025: A delegation of the Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) held a two-hour meeting with officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in New Delhi, marking a constructive step forward in addressing the concerns and aspirations of the Kuki-Zo people.
Led by KZC Chairman Pu Henlianthang Thanglet, the eight-member delegation included senior representatives from various tribes within the Kuki-Zo community. The meeting focused on key issues related to the ongoing movement and the future political roadmap for the community.
During the discussions, the KZC delegation strongly advocated for wider public consultation before any final decisions are taken. The MHA acknowledged these concerns and expressed its readiness to maintain open lines of communication with the KZC leadership.
Both sides agreed to continue the dialogue in the coming weeks, signalling a mutual commitment to peaceful resolution and inclusive policymaking.
