Justice Prashant Kumar Deka Sworn in as Chairman of Arunachal Pradesh Lokayukta

ITANAGAR, Aug 20: Justice Prashant Kumar Deka (Retd) was sworn in as the new Chairman of the Arunachal Pradesh Lokayukta at a solemn ceremony held at Raj Bhawan, Itanagar, today. Alongside him, Shri Sang Phuntsok took oath as a Member of the Lokayukta.

The oath of office was administered by the Hon’ble Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt Gen KT Parnaik (Retd), in the presence of dignitaries, officials, and members of the judiciary.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu, who attended the event, congratulated the newly sworn-in Chairman and Member, extending his best wishes for their role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and justice in the State.

The Lokayukta, a statutory body, serves as an anti-corruption ombudsman with the mandate to investigate allegations of corruption, abuse of power, and maladministration against public functionaries. The appointment of Justice Deka and Shri Phuntsok is expected to strengthen efforts towards clean governance and enhance public trust in the administration.

The ceremony marked a significant step in reinforcing institutional mechanisms to uphold integrity and good governance in Arunachal Pradesh.
