ITANAGAR, Aug. 17, 2025: Arunachal Pradesh’s celebrated taekwondo athlete Rupa Bayor has once again made the nation proud by securing a bronze medal in the Individual Poomsae (18–30 years) category at the Australian Open WT G2 International Taekwondo Championship 2025. The achievement further strengthens her position as one of India’s most accomplished taekwondo practitioners and a rising force in international poomsae competition.
With this latest success, Bayor has etched her name in the history books by becoming the first Indian athlete to achieve three consecutive podium finishes at the prestigious Australian Open Taekwondo Championship. Her remarkable consistency and excellence on the international stage have earned widespread admiration from the sporting community and brought immense pride to Arunachal Pradesh and the country.

The same year, she created another milestone by becoming the first Indian athlete to break into the World Top 10 Poomsae Rankings, a feat that highlighted her growing stature in global taekwondo.
Her outstanding performances were further recognised earlier this year when she received the Best Female Athlete (India Poomsae) award at the Indian Taekwondo Gala Awards 2025. The honour acknowledged her contribution to the sport and her consistent success in national and international competitions.
