Muollien, August 22, 2025: The Hmar Students’ Association (HSA), Jinam Valley Block, has strongly condemned the abduction of two individuals from Tattephai Village, Dima Hasao district, under Mahur Police Station on the night of August 19.
The abducted victims have been identified as Mr. Zosangkhum Hmar and Elder Lalrimawi Hmar, who were reportedly taken away by unidentified miscreants around 11:30 p.m. The Association described the incident as an “inhuman and unlawful act” that poses a serious threat to peace, security, and communal harmony in the region.
Expressing deep concern, the HSA urged authorities to take swift and necessary measures to ensure the safe release of the abducted persons and to bring those responsible to justice.

The Association also appealed to all communities of Jinam Valley to uphold peaceful co-existence, mutual respect, and unity among tribes, emphasizing that harmony is vital for the stability and progress of the region.
The condemnation was issued by HSA Jinam Valley Block President Varmawithang Huolngo and Secretary Zarzosang Zate.
