Arunachal’s Kabak Yano Scales Africa’s Highest Peak, Mount Kilimanjaro

Itanagar, Aug 6, 2025: Accomplished mountaineer Kabak Yano from Arunachal Pradesh has successfully scaled Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, as part of her ongoing “7-Summit Mountaineering Expedition,” adding another remarkable achievement to her growing list of accomplishments.

Standing at 5,895 metres above sea level, Mount Kilimanjaro is located in Tanzania and is regarded as one of the most iconic mountains in the world. It is also one of the coveted Seven Summits—the highest mountains on each of the seven continents. Climbers across the globe aspire to complete the Seven Summits challenge, considered one of the most demanding and prestigious achievements in mountaineering.

Upon reaching the summit, Yano proudly unfurled the Indian Tricolour, symbolizing both national pride and her determination to represent Arunachal Pradesh and India on the global stage. Her successful ascent marks another major step toward completing her ambitious mission of conquering all seven continental summits.

Kabak Yano is already widely known in the mountaineering community for having successfully scaled Mount Everest, the world’s highest mountain. Her achievements have earned her recognition as one of the leading women mountaineers from Northeast India and an inspiration for aspiring adventurers across the country.
