Arunachal Pradesh Inaugurates Tiranga Mahotsav with Patriotic Fervour

Itanagar, August 12, 2025: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday inaugurated the Tiranga Mahotsav in Itanagar, marking the beginning of the state’s Independence Day week celebrations with a vibrant display of patriotism, culture and national pride. The event was attended by the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt. Gen. KT Parnaik (Retd.), who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Organised by the Department of Art and Culture, the Tiranga Mahotsav brought together citizens, artists, students and government officials in a grand celebration of the nation’s unity and diversity. The programme featured a Tiranga Mela showcasing various cultural and artistic displays, alongside a musical concert that resonated with patriotic songs and performances dedicated to the spirit of India.

The atmosphere at the venue was filled with enthusiasm as participants waved the national flag and joined in singing songs that celebrated the country’s rich heritage and the sacrifices made by freedom fighters. The event sought to strengthen the bond between citizens and the values represented by the Indian tricolour.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Pema Khandu praised the organisers for curating a programme that went beyond entertainment. He remarked that the event had deeply touched the hearts of attendees and reflected the collective spirit of hope, unity and pride among the people of Arunachal Pradesh.

“The celebrations did not just entertain us; they moved us and reminded us of the values that bind us together as a nation,” Khandu said. He added that such initiatives play an important role in fostering patriotism and encouraging citizens, particularly the younger generation, to uphold the ideals of the Constitution and the national flag.

Governor Lt. Gen. KT Parnaik (Retd.) also appreciated the efforts of the organisers in promoting cultural harmony and national integration through the event.

The Tiranga Mahotsav forms part of a series of programmes being organised across Arunachal Pradesh ahead of Independence Day. The initiative aims to inspire citizens to honour the sacrifices of the nation’s heroes while strengthening cultural unity and national consciousness throughout the state.
