During his visit, Scindia is scheduled to attend several official programmes in Namchi and Gangtok districts and review the progress of key infrastructure, tourism and pilgrimage-related projects being implemented in the state.
On May 15, the Union Minister will visit Temi Tea Garden, the only tea estate in Sikkim and one of the state’s major tourist attractions. He is also expected to inspect the ongoing Bhaleydunga Ropeway Project at Yangang and assess the progress of tourism infrastructure development in the region.
Later in the day, Scindia will attend the Sikkim Premier League at Bhaichung Stadium before proceeding to Gangtok, where he will visit Orchidium, a tourism and cultural attraction recently visited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Sikkim tour.
On May 16, the Union Minister will travel to the strategic Indo-China border area at Nathula Pass to inspect facilities being developed for the resumption and management of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.
He will review acclimatisation centres built at Hangu Lake and 17th Mile for Kailash Mansarovar pilgrims. These facilities were virtually inaugurated earlier by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his recent visit to Sikkim.
