Gangtok, May 18: Siniolchu FC emerged champions of the Sikkim Premier League (SPL) Season 4 after defeating Singling Sporting Club 3-2 in a thrilling and closely contested final at the packed Paljor Stadium in Gangtok on Monday.
The high-voltage finale kept football fans on the edge of their seats till the final whistle, with both teams delivering an intense and entertaining contest. Siniolchu FC showcased remarkable determination, teamwork, and composure under pressure to secure the historic title victory in what was widely described as one of the most exciting finals in SPL history.
Entering the tournament as underdogs, Siniolchu FC completed a remarkable comeback campaign with their championship triumph, while Singling SC also earned praise for their spirited performance throughout the tournament and in the final clash.
The grand finale witnessed a massive turnout of football lovers, creating an electrifying atmosphere at Paljor Stadium and reflecting the growing popularity of football in Sikkim.
The event was attended by Governor of Sikkim Shri Om Prakash Mathur as the Chief Guest, while Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), accompanied by Mrs. Krishna Rai, attended as Guest of Honour. Chief Justice of the High Court of Sikkim Shri Justice A. Muhamed Mustaque was also present at the occasion.
Several dignitaries, including Deputy Speaker Raj Kumari Thapa, Sports Minister Raju Basnet, Minister N.B. Dahal, MLAs Aditya Golay and Nar Bahadur Pradhan, along with mayors, chairpersons, advisors, and senior officials, attended the final.

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang congratulated both teams for their outstanding display of football and sportsmanship. In a social media post, he described the match as “closely contested and exciting till the very end” and praised Siniolchu FC for rising to the occasion with determination and teamwork.
The Sikkim Premier League has continued to play a significant role in promoting football and nurturing young talent across the state, steadily evolving into one of the most important sporting platforms in Sikkim.
