New Delhi, May 20: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and reviewed the progress of several projects of national importance currently underway in the state.

According to Khandu, the meeting focused on infrastructure and strategic development initiatives being implemented in Arunachal Pradesh, which shares international borders with China, Bhutan and Myanmar.
Following the meeting, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and the Union Government for their “unwavering support and continued commitment” towards the development and progress of Arunachal Pradesh.
Several flagship projects of national significance are currently being executed in the frontier state, including the proposed 1,748-km Frontier Highway along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), the Trans Arunachal Highway and multiple hydropower projects aimed at strengthening India’s renewable energy capacity.
The state government has also been coordinating closely with the Ministry of Home Affairs on strategic infrastructure projects, road connectivity in remote border districts and the expansion of telecommunications networks in sensitive frontier areas.
Officials said the ongoing projects are expected to improve connectivity, strengthen border infrastructure, boost economic development and enhance strategic preparedness in the northeastern state.

The Frontier Highway project, considered one of the most ambitious infrastructure initiatives in the region, is expected to connect remote border villages and improve mobility along areas close to the India-China border.
The meeting also reviewed the status of other development projects being implemented under various central schemes aimed at improving transport, energy and communication infrastructure across Arunachal Pradesh.
Khandu reiterated the state government’s commitment to working closely with the Centre to accelerate development projects and strengthen infrastructure in border regions.
