Sharing the development on social media, the Chief Minister said sports infrastructure plays a crucial role in nurturing talent and creating opportunities for young people across the state.

“Meghalaya today has 240 sports projects either completed or underway across the State, with a target of reaching 510 by 2028,” Sangma stated.

He said the government’s vision is to ensure that every district, block and locality has access to quality sports facilities so that young athletes can grow, compete and realise their potential.

“Our vision is clear, no district, no block, no locality should be left behind,” the Chief Minister said.

The proposed Mini Stadium at Damas is expected to strengthen sports facilities in North Garo Hills and provide local youth with improved opportunities for training and sporting activities.

The Meghalaya government has in recent years launched multiple sports infrastructure projects as part of its broader plan to promote youth engagement, talent development and grassroots sports across the state.
