Sharing his vision for a “Viksit Assam,” the Chief Minister said every district in the state should have three key institutions -  one medical college, one university and one engineering college - aimed at strengthening opportunities for young people across Assam.

“My vision for the next phase of Assam’s development is clear. It will be led by our youth and each district must have three key institutions to cater to their growth,” the Chief Minister stated.

The announcement forms part of the state government’s broader development roadmap focused on education, healthcare, skill development and employment generation. The initiative seeks to ensure that students from all districts have access to higher education and professional training closer to their homes.

According to the vision document shared by the Chief Minister, the proposed framework includes establishing a medical college to strengthen healthcare services and medical education, a university to promote higher learning and research, and an engineering college to boost technical education and innovation.
