Champhai, April 28: In a major anti-drug operation, the Assam Rifles, in coordination with Champhai Police, seized 32.8 grams of Heroin No. 4 valued at approximately ₹24.6 lakh from the Zote area in Champhai district of Mizoram on April 28.
During the joint operation, security forces apprehended one individual suspected to be involved in drug trafficking.
Officials said the seized contraband along with the accused was handed over to the Excise and Narcotics Department, Champhai, for further legal action and investigation.

Authorities noted that the operation highlights the continued efforts of Assam Rifles and local law enforcement agencies to curb drug trafficking and strengthen security along Mizoram’s border areas.
