CM Conrad Sangma Announces Development Initiatives for Madanriting in Shillong

Shillong, May 2, 2026: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma visited Madanriting in Shillong where he interacted with residents and announced several development initiatives aimed at improving local infrastructure and community welfare.

During the visit, the Chief Minister said the Madanriting stadium will be renovated with improved infrastructure to support sports activities and youth development in the area. He also announced that the locality will be included under the “My City, Clean City” campaign, which will bring CCTV surveillance and enhanced street lighting.

Sangma further stated that essential works such as the repair of a retaining wall and fencing of the community hall would be sanctioned to improve safety and public facilities.

In support of education and cultural development, the Chief Minister sanctioned ₹2 lakh each from the Chief Minister’s Special Grant (CMSG) to schools participating in the programme to help them acquire cultural and musical resources.

The event also witnessed the honouring of sanitation workers, Anganwadi workers, police and traffic personnel, elders, and meritorious students by the Dorbar Shnong and community members.

During the programme, the Chief Minister also inaugurated a newly procured ambulance and mortuary van arranged by the Dorbar Shnong for the benefit of the locality.

Sangma congratulated the community for its collective efforts and expressed hope for the continued development and progress of Madanriting.
